Extensive work on the "Plan of God" is offered, inviting the child to see how God’s love has unfolded through history. This includes work on typology—connecting Old Testament themes to their fulfillment in Christ. Children are also given the opportunity to study of the Prophets, delving into their specific calls and messages. This is linked to the child's own sense of vocation and discerning how God calls them by name for a particular service.
THE COVENANT
The exploration of God's covenants with Noah, Abraham, and Moses highlights God's unending faithfulness and invitation to relationship.
SACRAMENTS OF INITIATION
A deeper, more theological exploration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist as a commitment to God's mission. The Prophets are introduced as models for listening and announcing God’s will.
MORAL FORMATION
At this age, the child is ready for a deeper understanding of conscience and morality. The Maxims and the Beatitudes are presented as guides for Christian living, helping them discern their own gifts for service.
HISTORICAL STUDY
Work extends to include the history of liturgy, the structure of the Mass, the history of the Bible, and the early Church. Children in Atrium III are encouraged to reflect on "My Century" and their personal role in history.
PARABLES OF THE KINGDOM
A synthesis of Jesus' teachings on the Kingdom, encouraging the child to ponder the paradox of the Incarnation—the great mystery of God choosing the small and hidden.
PRAYER & MEDITATION
Children are offered greater independence in their prayer life through guided meditation on scripture, personal prayer journals, and the opportunity to plan and lead group prayer.
